The American People are asking: "Does my vote even matter?"

American voters are increasingly disenchanted: with their elected officials, with their system of governance, and with the election process.  They are showing their dismay and disinterest by refusing to exercise what many would call their best path of recourse: the power of the vote.  In the past quarter century at least 100 million eligible voters have stayed home during each federal election.  While Americans aren’t voting, politicians are getting a free pass.  Author Andy Andrews explains how the American people really can make a difference.

Andrews’ book, How Do You Kill 11 Million People?: Why the Truth Matters More Than You Think, examines a political system that rewards politicians for lying and, worse yet, doesn’t hold them accountable for their subsequent actions that are sinking America.

“There are 545 people in America who are legally, morally, in every way responsible for every problem this country has right now.  One president, nine Supreme Court justices, one hundred senators, and 435 representatives.  According to our last census, there are 311 million of us.  So: 311 million, 545 – you would think you would be able to do something,” Andrews explained.

There’s the rub: can we, as voters, actually do something?  It is becoming increasingly clear to many Americans that Republicans, Democrats, conservative, liberal: we are being sold the same product with different labels.  How can we expect either side to advance the interests of the nation when they are rewarded for avoiding the things we need to hear?

“I’m not trying to scare people unnecessarily, but I am saying this is not any more about a Republican or a Democrat.  This is about the very country.  I’m an old dad, but I have great hopes and dreams for my children, and I don’t want to let certain people control this to the point that those cannot come true.”

And neither do we.  To see the full interview with Mr. Andrews:
