Here’s what we’re working on for the show today:

The headlines for weeks now have been predicting the end of Santorum’s campaign — but last night’s sweep even has those who would love to see this contest continue admitting the writing’s on the wall and this thing is over.  We’ll talk to Jonathan Alter (@jonathanalter), MSNBC political analyst and Bloomberg View columnist.

The Megapanel:  Our Wednesday Megapanel of Imogen Lloyd Webber (@illoydwebber), Jonathan Capehart (@capehartj) and Peter Morici (@Pmorici1).  Now that it’s all but sure this is a two-man race between Obama and Romney, what now?  We’ll also discuss an California company trying an innovative way to award raises to employees — by letting co-workers decide.  The idea is that people who work with you know more about your performance than the big boss in the office.

The Specialist: Economist Simon Johnson will be here (@baselinescene) to discuss his new book White House Burning: The Founding Fathers, Our National Debt, and Why It Matters to You.

Tornado Update: Texas is cleaning up as the Southeast prepares for more storms today.

River Monsters!  An all new season of Animal Planet’s River Monsters kicks off tonight with a two-hour episode of All American Maneaters.  Host Jeremy Wade will be here to talk about the show, and hopefully give us some tips on catching River Monsters! (Although we might have to head to the East River to do this!)  Here’s a segment from the show:

The Daily Rant: Our friend Ari Melber (@arimelber) is here.  What is Rep. Paul Ryan’s hope is Ari’s nightmare — he’ll talk about how the Ryan budget isn’t a practical plan as much as a dismantling of government services as we know them.
